Ronald Reginald King, One of the most interesting men you'll ever meet.

I was born and raised in Asheville, NC. I retired as a Battalion Chief after 27 years with the City of Asheville, NC Fire/Rescue Department. My loyalty to my profession was demonstrated many times over by serving on and sometimes chairing Boards, Committees and Teams on the local, state and regional level. I am the Founder/CEO of DAMNED (Domestic Abusers Mentality Negated Eradicated Definitively ), a Not-For-Profit Domestic Abuse Agency created to support and educate. (DAMNEDONLINE.org) For the last six years I have been a Manager of the Goombay Festival in Asheville, NC. Goombay is a three day festival with 30,000 to 50,000 participants featuring culture arts, crafts, dance, cuisine and different styles of Afro-Caribbean Heritage. I also volunteers for several youth organizations.

I am presently promoting my first poetry book “INSIDE OUT (SEE ME)” that has been ranked as a must have piece of work among the many who have read it! I have received various distinguished awards for my poetry. Published in Who's Who in Poetry, best Poems and Poet of 2002, 2004, and 2007 and also chosen as a Poetry Ambassador in 2007. My second poetry book “READ ME “ will be in stores Fall of 2010 followed by my first novel “HIS BACHELOR PARTY”.

One of my goals is to take my play, “LOVE IS LIFE” on a national tour. A Romance in Music, a play with a spiritual overtone. What motivated me to become a writer begins with my ability to tell tales in a way that would hold my listening audience’s attention when I was a very young man. When I decided to prepare for life after my professional career I felt that writing expressions for the world to read was the only natural course to take.

I am a proud father of three wonderful children, one son and two daughters. I am very family oriented. I believe that closeness in any relationship derives from a genuine love for God, self and mankind.
